  1. So, two sea voyages and a land trip thru many countries, assuming all goes well. India to say the UK is one sea trip. I cannot see this happening. The best way of bypassing Suez is sea to Eilat then a railway to the Mediterranean across Israel. Only thru one country by land. But some Israelis are against it on political ground as it would antagonize their neighbor.

  2. Many large ships when full go via Suez, then the Cape when empty, as it uses far less fuel
