seth1422 My uncle was on the first wave at D-Day. He said it wad TNP (take no prisoners) against SS. After he experienced Belsen he said all Germans were TNP. Post war he hated Germans for what they did. He regarded them as sub-human.

You also get the Americans, who have distorted history since WW2 via print and media, as Neillands points out, to put them performing far better than they actually did, and to also shift blame away from themselves when they screwed up.

TIK, I admire your stance. Extremists take advantage of free societies. Free societies say that good will counter evil, so let evil be heard as we are free. Then evil will be laughed at. It is not as simple as that. As you have experienced.

My uncle Jimmy was one of the first British troops into Belsen Death Camp - the largest in the west. He was a very funny man and wonderful to be around. He never spoke of Belsen. Before he died I sat with him in front of his fire with a few beers. The hairs all over my body stood out as he described what he walked into. I was always interested in WW2 because all of my uncles were in it. I got first hand accounts from Nijmegen to the sinking of the Bismarck. One umcle never came back. They were all fine men, the best.

marissa bolino Dresden was a rail junction. There is one theory that it was a display to the Soviets of allied air power, so don't mess with us. The Soviets had no such capability. The Soviets took the city soon after the raid, walking into rubble.

marissa bolino I never wrote that the railways were not active. They were, just about. They used them to transport Death Camp inmates to other sites. At that time the RAF and the USAF were running out of targets. The theory cannot be disproven or proven.

marissa bolino What I wrote was clear.
