  4. Mazda are hoping to have HCCI in a rotary which will greatly advance this small light unit. Mazda are hoping to use the rotary as a range -extender. As these run at a constant speed the implementation of HCCI is much easier. Toyota have teamed up with Mazda on this.

  5. Mercedes bought Ilmor in England who made their F1 engines and called it Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains. They still do it all in England. Ilmor were doing R&D on HCCI.

  6. Mazda have perfected HCCI as a part of their SkyActiv program. They say HCCI has solved the emissions and fuel problems of the rotary engine and are to have it in the Jan 2020 RX-Vision rotary engined sports car. They are also developing a small range-extender rotary with HCCI ignition. HCCI will be in piston engines also.

  7. Mazda have dropped the RX-Vision sports car and are concentrating on rotary range-extenders. Mazda are hoping to have HCCI in a rotary. Toyota have teamed up with Mazda on this.
