  1. Going down hill a/c was free. This brings me to engine braking. Wasted energy can be clawed back by switching in the a/c compressor when decelerating. This is having a larger more robust electric clutch on an a/c compressor. When in town traffic the a/c is only engaged when the foot is off the accelerator pedal. Free a/c and less wear on the brakes, as the a/c puts a load on the engine. This could be on an `eco` switch with of course the normal off and on as well. The likes of taxis could drop their fuel bill substantially.
