  4. The Citroen CX was first a British BMC. BMC used subframes, which would hold the engine, g/box and suspension all in the frame. The rear subframe held the suspension. This approach was easy to adept to new cars. Just restyle the body and bolt on the subframes. Farina designed a car for BMC using Austin 1800 subframes.
