  1. The way the British normally acts towards Ireland? please! Britain's view of Ireland is that it is still part of the UK. The Irish have always been able to live in the UK claiming all benefits. To Irish people there are no borders with the UK. A passport is not needed only a form of ID. Ireland's defence by default is by the UK. Naval and air forces cover it. When the UK dropped out of the EU, the Irish were still allowed to come and go as they please and live in the UK. The Irish election is not covered in any depth in the UK, it is like it does not happen. Irish affairs are rarely covered by the UK media. Most people in the UK cannot tell you the name of the Irish president or prime minister.
