Comments by "John Burns" (@johnburns4017) on "Why The US Has No High-Speed Rail" video.
The USA is in decline. It is not focusing on the future to expand, it is focused on vested interest, no matter what the implications of this are - which are usually negative.

What do you base this article of faith?

At the beginning it explains it comes into its own when the distance between cities is within a certain distance. Lots of conurbations fall into this frame.

High-speed is 125mph minimum not 100-110mph. But not on an average, but peak.

@paname514 Yep, 200k kph is just under 125 mph.

The UK HS2 is not fast. It is 100 miles from the HS2 stations in London and Birmingham. It will take 52 minutes. That is 116 mph on a supposed 250 mph railway. HS is costing a fortune. £107 bn. They can build 25 aircraft carriers for that. Or 1.6 MILLION homes. All this when all it is doing is paralleling existing fast lines that can be even faster when bottlenecks are removed.
