  1. What kept the British out of Viet Nam was the appalling attitude of President Johnson towards Britain. Derogatory comments, etc. Also the TSR2 affair. Wilson did not like Johnson for good reasons. Wilson also told the USA only a negotiated solution will work with him being proven right.
