But here were many treatises about war at the time and later, and Sun Tzu's version popularly got tons of footnotes by other famous historical people starting with Cao Cao over centuries.

My city has these wannabe Templars active, recently a bunch were arrested and I am looking for how a sane person could have followed that wacky group of weirdos with a Jabba the Hutt looking slob as the leader (Oleg Maltsev, now in jail), and I have no answers... My aunt was his personal assistant and now I have to take care of her cat. They claim the arrests were because of a "very expansive smear job" while I've seen their "no contact fighting" videos and knew how auntie was working 24/7 without weekend or holidays and impossible to get hold off. The laws they broke are about planning to violently overthrow government during martial law... in Ukraine, yeah they wanted to give us all to poo tin's soldiers. Had they any success reaching Odesa, we'd have body count in thousands.

It was a mass suісіdе event, always was planned to be, "we are not committing a suісіdе, it's a revolutionary act!" but some people panicked and were forced into it. But at that point majority was already brainwashed to kill themselves. Claiming they were all forced at gunpoint is some revisionist history. The guys with guns ALSO drank the flavor aid.

Dude there's common sense and there's lunacy. You can't in good faith claim that ancient aliens vs archeology are equal... or that flat-Earthers vs sane people is a "bothside" issue. South in civil war fought for slavery, the other side fought against. There isn't any real debate about any of these things. If you think Injecting bleach and horse dewormer instead of vaccines is on equal grounds, you're in a cult. Not both sides.

26:12 Why are Westerners so adamant about claiming Mary Magdalene was related to prostitution? Not only you mistakenly conflate here with Mary of Bethany (Lazarus' sister), you add a third unrelated woman who was described as "sinful" (but not elaborated how, maybe she was a thief) with these two, AND somehow claim three completely unrelated women are all same person and also a prostitute. Like is that lonely celibate priests having fantasies? Looks like that to me, also virgin Mary apparitions and the dichotomy. Orthodox church has its own share of problems but this Mary cult is not one of them, I guess thanks to celibacy being optional.

@coreys2686 no? You'd be surprised how most technology we use, from simple prisms and distilling alcohol to refrigeration and combustion were made by church-goers of some boring traditional confession (i.e. Sunni Muslim, Lutheran, Anglican, Orthodox). The "religion being anti science" thing is from Enlightenment era reactionaries, which did more to damage religion than science, but like... you know who invented Big Bang theory? A Catholic priest. He got a reward from the Pope for it. It's a bit of culture shock to people whose stereotypes about religion comes from Luddites and televangelicals.

It's really more about stubbornness than intelligence. I was always surprised with fanatics arguing with me "do they not understand they're wasting time?" because I am not actually listening. You can't debate a Metalhead into preferring pop music, same with everything else.

You know that #1 cult with most deaths in this video was atheist, right?
1
@joescott Scientology is the most classical cult in traditional sense, but it started as struggling sci-fi writer making a successful self-help book. I am paranoid when I see anything talking about "improvement", "personal growth", and other quack terms like "time management". They are VERY similar to Amway and other pyramid schemes. Redpillers fall into same category, Joe Rogan is like Herbalife for lonely young men.

Corporate cults are absolutely a thing, the most obvious ones are the MLMs like LuLaRoe or Herbalife, but historically, Henry Ford ran his corporation like a cult. So does Elon Musk.

There are actually nerdy cults as well, led by likes of Dawkins and other "rationalists" who deny philosophy, psychology and some even free will.

@andrews.5212 comparing black activists to bugs in Starship Troopers is the least self-aware thing I've seen in YouTube comments... you know the entire point of ST is to make fun of propaganda that equates enemies to bugs, right? Black Mirror had an episode that explains it less subtle, Men Against Fire.

@kerriekupar6466 your comment aged worse than Trump. America shifted to extreme right and even conservative center-right by European terms democrats are now considered extreme left, hell, NEOCONS are now called lefties FFS. Marxism would never be mainstream, telling this as a center-left Ukrainian, we will make sure all Marx statues are treated the same as Lenin, Columbus, or Confederates. Marxists done more damage to socialism than entire right wing combined.

Some of him could even speak with an English accent!

@xminusone1 I am interested because I lost part of my family and best family friends to other self-proclaimed Templar movements in Odesa. Not Texas, Ukraine. Local templar leader was arrested a few months ago. My aunt was his assistant now I have to care about her cat. This is very annoying, do we blame French for this too?
1
@hipsterlord yeah they're not even on the same continent, which points out to a scam. Reading that they insisted the gods could only drink blood, that's neither Aztec nor Incan beliefs, but Maya sacrificies. Incan sacrifice was mostly bloodless, as in, people were strangled or left to die to weather. Aztecs are the famous ones Cortez dealt with, and Mayans are the guys who had the blood magic fetish.

Yeah, also people who are fanatical of one thing cannot be fanatics of another
1
@basedcase what happened to them? Dissolved into various more successful subgroups for next election cycle?
1
@glizbane next US election cycle, did you notice how QAnon disappeared as fast as it arrived? Now it's project 2025 and they laundered themselves into more acceptable conspiracies so, say, instead of "ancient aliens" they say about "lost civilization", which means the same thing but sounds less crazy.

23:00 Both things can be wrong, police botching their job AND the cult doing illegal things. And BOI you made me do a double take, guy arrested in Odessa?.. Ah, TEXAS. We JUST had mass arrests of the cult that mixed both "Templar" beliefs and camo LARP gravy seal stuff. I had family friends and relatives there. Horrible stuff they do to people. They steal your soul.
