  1. If you're in a country with little internet censorship, if it's higher you have many more uses... privacy claims are bogus, VPNs don't protect you, they let Chinese watch YouTube.

  2. VPNs are useful for accessing region locked content and bypassing censorship, which depending on your country might be what 99% of people face regularly. Even in democratic countries like Ukraine we use VPNs when we need to spy on traitors and collaborationists, i.e. I found my neighbor's VK page where he greets enemy army with their holidays. We had a cult leader arrested after posing there as high ranking as RF's GRU. And in countries less free than our you use VPN to access basic news.
