@comradewindowsill4253 and don't forget dialects! Chicago, Illinois is Shikagoh, Illinoy phonetically, also locals say NevAYda and CAYnada and MeHico, but most other English speakers don't, and some names have multiple pronounciations depending on where you're from...
However, a LOT of languages pronounce stuff exactly like written: Ukrainian, Spanish for most part, any phonetic script (like Japanese kana).
It can absolutely be used in English, doesn't even need a separate alphabet, just getting rid of French-like que-aei-oux-ault-like stuff, and figure out the silly vowels like Y, U, O, I, E and A constantly changing their sound. Why the hell English uses U or A for "ah" sound, and E or A for "eh", when ALL other languages actually make sense?
