I would argue that a pyramid is anything with square foundation and triangular sides, getting narrow on top, which would probably include most ziggurats but exclude towers, anything with a dome, and rectangular buildings... STILL, the "first pyramid" would be definitely a pile of rocks some prehistoric guy or gal put into square and then stacked more on top. I mean, we seen examples of toddlers making proper pyramids from alphabet cubes.
