@brianconvict It's the feeling of wonder and discovery you get during a big Shyamalan-like plot twist in the movies, or a sci-fi reveal, ever played Assassin's Creed or Mass Effect or Grandia? Finding those ancient progenitors from SPACE was cool... To me people believing in this stuff FOR REAL only make traditional religion sound and look more grounded. Same with New Age "I'm just spiritual" tripe, nah thanks, I think "love thy neighbor" is far less kooky than "charge these crystals". Like the Matrix concept is cool, but let's acknowledge it as science fiction.

@andersandersen6295 Why would Coens put the disclaimer that Fargo is a true story. Would that make that briefcase with money buried under snow real?

@resonant_theories no, he didn't. No need to write fairytales. Hobbiton is real, it's in Western Ukraine.

Yeah and it's likely it was a made up tourist guide telling exciting stories! xD

@Les_S537 In Odesa we have Greek ruins under the Primorsky Boulevard, but also a bunch to the sea. Under it. I like your idea that many Atlantis existed, much like many floods happened instead of "Flood myth is fake nothing ever flooded" you see spoused by rejected redditors.

@ Did my comment disappear? tl;dr: second part is correct people would rather double down than admit they were fooled, that's how most cons work. First part is not, evolutionary psychology is largely debunked, humans do irrational stuff that turns into shamanistic rituals due to same mechanisms OCD is based on. If you knocked on wood and everything went well, then evidently, it worked!

To find Atlantis, you just have to follow Jacqueline Natla's boat after jumping on a bike.

@andersandersen6295 I am just giving another example, if you were sacrcastic, it just agrees with your argument is all. 👍
