If Americans are American then Eratosthenes is Egyptian. Tho he lived closer to us than to pyramids his calculation wasn't precise and definitely didn't use either metric system or imperial.

The lengths people go to avoid Egyptians getting any credit, pyramids - aLiEns, royal Alexandria library - GrEeK, Saladin - I heard people calling him Turk. Always trying to avoid actual people who did stuff in Egypt from getting credited.

@ChrisRidley-js7ju Americans use imperial system. Ancient Egyptians didn't. How the hell would Egyptian encode a message that you get by multiplying height of one of the pyramids IN FEET with some random number from India?.. HOW WOULD THEY ENCODE IN A SYSTEM THEY DIDN'T USE?!

@varyolla435 what do you mean "stole", it's THEIR STONES! You don't think the citizens of the city and municipality OWNS their land and materials? Or does someone seriously think that a dead king somehow claims the rocks thousands of years later? This is just ordinary city replanning. Like taking apart Kremlin to build a toilet, improving it's functionality and artistic value. Hopefully next year.

I'm so tired of Westerners claiming other people's achievements as their own, USAtians saying "I am 2% Irish that means I take credit for building stone henge"... NO. You are American if you're born in America. Full stop. You're not Greek, Irish, or German. If you were born, lived and worked all of your life in Africa, it's pretty ridiculous when people 2000 years later claim you're a European. And EVERYBODY was Greekified back then, Israel, Egypt, Persia, Rome... doesn't mean Jesus disciples were Greeks because they spoke Koine same way I speak English now.

@Tucker93669 How would Ancient Egyptians (or aliens as the theorists believes) encode a number IN FEET that needs to be multiplied with arbitrary number of kings ages from another country summarized? Did the use imperial system? Egypt still doesn't. It doesn't work in metric lmao.
