Milo HAS credentials, he was speaking one time about having impostor syndrome because he wasn't at a dig site as a student YET due to pandemic, and it was long ago, he went on multiple since.

Even the Great Pyramid, which FOR SOME REASON is the only one conspiracy nuts obsess over, has giant gaps between stones of very varied sizes because there are totally human errors made in time they measured with rope and sticks.

@dazuk1969 counterpoint: as a Metalhead from the 2000s, I am calling him our worst insult: a poser.

Yeah it's not new tho... I can definitely track it to Helena Blavatsky whose stories of Hyperborea were very popular in russian empire emigre circles and among anti-communists in general... then you'd have New Age stuff and a surge of weird coming in post-Soviet world, where atheism with lenin's mummy worship stopped being the only allowed belief system, which led to a major explosion in cults. I remember being a kid when friends brought a CD with Zeitgeist, an American movie that started with 9/11 truthism, "disproving" Bible with poor knowledge of Egyptian mythology, then segued into sovereign citizen crap... I have no idea how they connected it all but message was "America bad, government lies, don't pay taxes, transition to our more ancient so more right religion of ancestors". THEN the russian stand-up comedian (yes) Zadornov promoted their version of russo-aryan on all channels until he was canceled for mocking MH-17 victims... I honestly can't remember a point when alt history WASN'T spread widely by weirdos. You forgot the Kennedy murder specialists and Moon Landing deniers? They are now women's sports specialists and pizza connoisseurs.

@MoreEriksson seriously the Sea Peoples are a plausible answer to so many legend and myth stuff why make up something else?

The precision argument is ridiculous too, pyramids have such HUGE gaps between stones you can put a hand with a camera between some and film the graffiti that builders made.

YouTube traps people into doing the thing that works, instead of things they like. Helps if the thing that gives tons of views is easier (like reaction vids) than anything else.
