I'm watching a lot of war footage as a Ukrainian, and there are some soldiers making works of art by scrubbing reliefs inside trenches... Usually much better work than these, but they got modern metal instruments and overall better understand of art, proportions and the like. I see that the MAJORITY of old art is lost, because it was made on non-permanent material, and what we are left with is simply what lasted. Similarly "megalithic era" was defined by giant structures no more than most Egyptian buildings were pyramids, they lived in mud brick houses. Most soft wooden and clay structures are gone, we are left with stone, just because it lasts. Kind of finding only plastic parts from some modern equipment. Not because we decided to make most important memories in PVC, but because it doesn't bloody decay lmao.
