  1.  @Pavlos_Charalambous  I think that's exactly the point of OP, Greek gods being much more... human, while Egyptians, for example, had a dog-headed Anubis weighing hearts to Maat feather so that the heavy ones would be eaten by a hippo-bodies goddess with a head of a crocodile. And they did things like that just because, as omnipotent but aloof wise beings, especially compared to VERY human emotion and motivations of lustful, jealous or angry Greek gods. To an extent, the most similar characters in the Bible aren't any sort of gods, even pagan ones, but... actual people. Patriarchs and matriarchs: Hera and Athena seem much closer to Sarah or Rachel than to Ishtar or Iset.

More than just friendly gods, Egypt was more progressive in many ways, from women's rights to own businesses to Egyptians accidentally inventing antibiotics))) Basically Ancient Egypt > everything until late 19th-mid-20th centuries. I looked up and English allowed women to own property in 1882... some 10 000 years after Egyptians)

  6. Most large wars in the west were fought over Troy too, kinda... rather, Asia Minor/Turkey/Anatolia. From Crusades all the way to World War 1. It changed after that though, with Bosphorus becoming irrelevant.

But if you think that's strange, English-speaking people ALSO group two separate colours with the word "blue", while most mainland European languages and Hebrew have separate words for both different colours blue and... sky blue. Like, the rainbow got 7 colors, not 6.

  11. Yeah, they literally started that series because of CA sponsorship. NOW, if they actually get paid for this and don't disclose it, that would break YouTube rules so might just be jumping the bandwagon of Trojan war becoming relevant among target audience.

  12. Horse might be the metaphor for inventing siege engines. In reality, it depended on country. In Eastern Europe, Mongols brought first siege engines in 1200s, which Chinese engineers built, as they were using trebuchets at least since battle of Guandu (200 CE, i.e. around 1400 years after the Trojan war). Quick search says that in the west, Carthage and Rome were first to use complex siege engines extensively, which is earlier, but still WAY later than Troy.

  13. Looked it up... oh wow, literally the best parts of Trojan war that everybody knows are in now-lost poem and we got this ship list that ends literally when the fun starts survive to this day.
