  1. "Zealots" was the name of Jewish anti-colonial movement to fight against Roman occupation... They lost. I know you're using the word in its more generic sense, but ignoring the context that fanatics are often the only final resistance against a colonial empire is just a fact. And blaming them for everything is a very colonial attitude, should we say. It's the same with "nationalism bad" logic, how else would a small nation fight against a giant empire if not through a national liberation movement?

  2. Zealots were guys who resisted Roman colonization of Middle East... It's interesting to see how Western imperialist mindset made that word into a bad thing.
