France had no choice, nobody actually WANTS to conquer that uncivilized barren wasteland, they just keep invading until we stop it by razing moscow... again. Putting out that fire was Napoleon's biggest mistake, should have let it burn to the ground and went back to Europe concentrating on fortifying Poland and Ukraine, people who would never let russians pass to France if they're armed enough without any "peace in our time" wankers.
