Also the sheer idea of finding discontentment i.e. tiny inconveniences so unbreable you want humanity to end (i.e. the goal of Buddhism, Nirvana) is THE most ultra-privileged philosophy I ever heard. Nihilism is like if the princess on a pea decided for the world to end because her bed is not perfectly smooth. Nihilists should grasp ACTUAL reality of people who don't have endless free time and finances to just mop around philosophically from their mother's basement.

You should learn about late 16th and early 17th century Japan, especially how Nichiren Buddhists were "peaceful" and how they treated Christian women in Korea that they invaded, and the few remaining Christians who survived that clarity of kindness with their head on their shoulders... Like yeah, all religions had their fanatics and bigots, but it baffles me how Westerners ignore like 90% of Buddhist history and focus on their PR, there's a lot of ironic chuckling to Islam being called "religion of peace", but the one religion FAMOUS for their literal warrior monks is somehow considered them most pacifist, while they're the ones who literally overthrown the Mongol empire, for example. The Buddhist monks.

I STILL keep hearing how Buddhism (or Confucianism or Taoism) are "not religions" usually by IAm14AndThisIsDeep types, you know, those want to pretend they're smarter than others and oh so different to everyone. Or by cringey Reddit atheism types who are trying to include Buddhist population in their count of atheists lmao.
