  2. 1 is the definition of the word "myth" when referring to a folklore story, i.e. Arthurian cycle, creation mythos of various cultures, or even modern myth cycles like Star Wars lore. 2 is the definition of "myth" we use for false claims that have nothing to do with folklore, i.e. flat Earth theory, pyramid schemes, pseudosciences like phrenology, race superiority myths etc. because they are unrealistic like the mythical stories.
