  1. Egyptian life expectancy was kinda higher than 19th century Europe tho, as they had primitive antibiotics (moldy bread) and didn't know humorism so didn't bleed people out with dirty instruments to "cure" them... Dry climate also helped.

  2. ​ @barbiquearea  Preserve? The whole point is for all of Ramses' bragging nothing remained of his purported glory, at least on that spot. Ozymandias is synonymous with someone whose empire crumbles like sand castles. Even Breaking Bad named an episode after him for this specific reason.
