MOST civs that didn't start working stone. Majority of buildings in Middle East like Egypt in Africa or Sumer and Akkad in Asia, were made from mud bricks. They didn't last long. City walls made from beaten earth were sturdy enough for a siege. Only temples and sometimes palaces were made from stone.
