  1.  @googane7755  Ukrainian Crimean Tatars (Kyrymly) have no relation from Tatars in Tatarstan, occupied by russia. The word "tatar" just meant any Turkic tribe, Cumans, Kipchaks, Bashkirs etc., and instead of learning of Mongol invasion we have Tataro-Mongol Yoke in history books. In fact, moscow was a colony of Tatar Khanate all way until Peter the Great established russian empire and stopped paying the taxes to their Tatar overlords.

  2. The lining up all Tatars and massacring every adult male what got me thinking of russia, since they kept doing that in more recent age. Ivan the Terrible was just copying Mongol traditions of his uncle.
