  10. After Segal visited freshly-blown up Olenivka PoW camp I don't think anyone has the same lack of self-awareness. I mean tons of washed-up celebs cheer up for dictators, from Depardieu, to Monson to Stone, and there's standing on a war crime scene fresh with charred corpses around, as part of occupying army, inside another country you are illegally in, and saying to camera that you checked and it's all right... like the sheer insanity, I hope he ends up on some war crime trial... one "adoption" (that's who russians call kidnapping) of a kid from Mariupol would do it.

Wikipedia puts his role as writerdirectoproduceractoeditor, but "Also production designer and manager, casting, set design, wardrobe, props, lighting designs, special make up effects, locations, administration and accounting, craft services, make up and hair and sound editor" for most movies... This specific movie is missing wardrobe so I half-expect one of his friends working in retail selling clothes and having a sample of oddly-colored shits of old stock the store is throwing away. So they all wear them lol.

  16. I rarely watch new movies, just monitor what likes of Baumbach, Coens or Kaufman put out... but I was actually surprised at some of the major release movies recently being fun. Since Ghost Protocol the spy movies are fun again, and with how overrated Nolan is, I liked Tenet (I watched it dubbed so I HEARD what they say). I need to watch some pretentious crap again (probably something by Ridley Scott or Scorcese) to become jaded about modern cinema like you are lol. One time the Oscars were actually decent and awarded Get Out and gave a statue to Gary Oldman for yelling a lot... but now they went back to being shite and snubbed Banshees while rewarding Navalny... nature is healing, Hollywood sucks again.

  18. Technically, a semi can jam, so it would be plausible for a movie (really, starting a film with a botched suicide attempt is great) BUT they quickly ruin it by showing gun firing again without unjamming the stuck bullet.

There are a lot of devices writers use to avoid that, and people often hate those not seeing the alternative is far, far worse... my fav is the "dumb outsider" who gets things explained to them to avoid winking at camera and talking about yourself so that viewers learn something characters already know.... the "audience surrogate" that's the term.

Yeah I know FAR too many people who "dream" of something they don't try... like, say, a friend said he wants to become a photographer, and... he got a DSLR, tons of photography books and sometimes goes through his camera's manual... only he doesn't really take pictures. People even ask him to make some family photos, and I took him out in historical city center that had views to capture, and he begrudgingly made some pics without even filling the memory once in a few years. It's just one example but I know many people like this, "want to make a comedy series on YouTube" and don't even write a single script, "want to learn to play [instrument]" and doesn't touch it etc.

  21.  @yannick245  some got limited screenings AFTER they went viral as YouTube fodder. Otherwise it's self-funded indie films, while B-movies had actual budget and expect to make some money in rent or tape/disc/streaming sales or even theaters that run them. Stuff like this isn't making money it's costing it.
