@JulioCrsm I only watched the full movie as a gif that lasted less than a minute so I probably missed literally everything.

Star Wars prequels were very commercially successful tho. Yoda doing flying kung-fu and other poor CGI was cringe, but at the time it was perfect popcorn fodder, we genuinely had fun watching them, then cringed at dialogue on rewatches.

@wesleywyndam-pryce5305 well you can argue that no films have a reason to exist. The cinema, all of it, IS unnecessary... People giving movies a higher value than "heh, it's entertaining" don't get why most actually watch stuff. Kids movies and family films were never considered high-brow art, but make bucks because creators understand the market. That's why stuff like Star Wars will keep being successful while haters will still tear their hair out, failing to understand mass appeal working better than going for specific fandom's quirks.

@onimaxblade8988 isn't this how Evil Dead turned from a campy low-budget horror, to cult classic in horror comedy? Also, Scream, being a parody of slashers, and revitalizing the genre by playing it self-aware to the max. If I were Sony, I would absolutely try to hire a good writer for sequel and start him with assumption of not trying to make a serious movie, but a campy parody.
