That would be harder because euphemisms for genitals are more common than Steve Jobs.

@MccFallen two wrongs don't make a right, Romans with their crucifixions don't excuse Druids sacrificing humans, and neither does Spanish Inquisition justify Aztec human sacrifice either. And not only there's proof these people did it, they openly admitted it, like you can see on Maya paintings, for example.

@kora4185 Eh, it's not that hard to check. There's a Greek (2k not 10k years ago) ruins dig site outside my house in Odesa, but further away, where now's seaport that russians bomb weekly, was a settlement before the sea level raised even further.

Eh, capital punishment literally exists in USA today, very different using it as punitive method to masscring innocents in a cargo cult. Killing PoWs is now a war crime. Murder cargo cults are worse.

5:55 I like the broader definition of "bureaucratic systems of record keeping" instead of just writing, because several civilizations were pretty developed otherwise but didn't use writing, relying on oral messengers and systems like Incan quipu or Aztec pigtographs. It doesn't have to be writing in the way cuineform and derivatives, or Chinese family of scripts use it.

Its amazing they had signs of human intelligence in 10k BC russia and none of that remained now, not a single intellegent being on that territory now. Just blood-thirsty toilet thieves.

There's a very big difference between capital punishment, which, while barbaric, serves a purpose of getting rid of society's problems permanently (i.e. serial killer), and ritual sacrifice, which is ALWAYS a form of cargo cult and superstition, where they claim that disemboweling children somehow makes the sun rise.

If time travel was real, human race would have died out because one modern person's germs would wreck cavemen worse than 90% of Native Americans that died from Eastern Hemisphere diseases.

They just need to send a scout to look for the goody huts while building granary for next 2000 years.

@darkprince56 manure was always used as fertilizer, nowadays chemical ones exist, but they're not ubiquitous... also ammonia in urine scares off vermin like rats, which eat through EVERYTHING otherwise. Many better things nowadays but not for pre-industrial era or some simple societies living in small villages.

@post-leftluddite we don't assume civilization is better, we just like living past 25 and vastly prefer to having a modern organized army and state because the alternative is being chased to the mountains and eradicated like most native Americans. The problem with your self-described luddite theories is that they have zero practical applicability because guys with guns exist and you won't force them to stop killing you without nukes.

49:26 Writing shouldn't be a criteria for classifying something as a city AT ALL, Conquistadores absolutely considered Tenochtitlan a city, and Aztecs didn't have writing... Mayans did, but Incas didn't write, and had cities like Cusco.

It's absolutely insane how much things change in such a short period of time... my grandparents had BLACK AND WHITE television! This is absolutely insane, Cleopatra must have watched it like that.
