  3.  @icarian553  moving hockey to summer makes no sense, since winter Olympics lack team-based non-racing sports. Stuff like football, volleyball, basketball, handball, water polo etc. are all in summer and removing hockey will leave winter with mostly just variants of skiing, ice skating and curling.

  7.  @herrakaarme  you might need them for instructions for some technical stuff, never used inches in Ukraine for anything other than monitors but always had tape measures with weird large centimeters that don't add to 10s.

  8. Well, half of Europe got independence around end of WW1, the end of empires. They half were occupied back very soon and got really independent by 1989-91, but this doesn't magically make churches in Kyiv younger than moscow.

  9.  @DrD0000M  I'd argue that it makes USA WORSE because 1770s constitution is OBVIOUSLY more flawed than ones written in 1990s. Listen, first constitution of Ukraine is from 1710. Do we still use it? Hell no! And the amount of amendments in US constitution is ABYSMALLY low. They had to amend SLAVERY, a thing that was officially banned in Europe for centuries!

  11.  @MaxSoininen  Dracula is very clearly Romanian. Wallachia is one of regions of Romania. But Dracula isn't even associated with it, but Transylvania, a bordering region. In Bram Stoker's version of the story, he's an ethnic Hungarian, but he STILL rules from a castle in Transylvania that yes, borders Wallachia, both Romanian regions. Since the topic is about Americans claiming Nottingham, please don't be like them and pretend that Irishmen can somehow claim castles in Eastern Europe. P.S. Countess Bathory's castle is near, in Slovakia. Unlike real life Vlad Dracula, she was actually Hungarian in real life, and not just because Bela Lugosi had a thick accent.

Australian time is an actual issue for Eurovision where the time difference is about the same as between USA and EU, of course they don't have to move THEIR competitions for westerners, so it was really surreal experience watching Tokyo and Beijing Olympics early in the morning and events ending early afternoon and then get slammed with Paris being just one hour away and having events well into the night.
