I've seen pictures of war correspondents taking photos (and sometimes just notepad write-ups) from WW2 and they always fascinated me, I bet at the time people were as impressed by being able to watch the war on film and read it live in papers with photos and hear sound recordings on radio as we are now by internet making it so much easier (and portable, small cameras allowing soldiers, volunteers, and even civilians to film without relying on a camera crew).
