@Perozderic it's a misunderstanding, the plagitarism isn't that Kalashnikov copied StG's design in AK, but that Hugo Schmeisser WORKED for Kalashnikov in a concentration camp, and like with missiles, and everything else, the major engineering breakthroughs post-WW2 were because of German engineers both USA and USSR employed. Americans just... paid them, that's the main difference. So AK47 and STG44 are different guns but they have same constructor, even if he didn't get credited for the AK.

You do understand that they were made by the same guy? Hugo Schmeisser. He was captured by Soviets and forced to work under... well, Kalashnikov. AK is just next in line of the same German designer. Except done in a russian camp for PoWs.

They were made by German engineers. Commissioned by Nazis and commies, yes. AK was my in camps for German prisoners of war, Kalashnikov was basically a warden overseeing PoWs like Hugo Schmeisser and his pals who made things the for Soviets.

@staringgasmask Kalashnikov being a weapon constructor is a Soviet myth. He was an uneducated peasant who simply got credit for overseeing a bunch of German prisoners of war, one of which was Hugo Schmeisser, yes. Notice how after Hugo died, Kalashnikov literally invented nothing. That's what russians (and later, Chinese) did, rip off someone's design while slapping a new label. AK is a Schmeisser model. Much like Chinese Abibas and NKIE sportswear.

The full auto option is used for covering fire, one soldiers fires at russians while the others move through to another covering. Just to pin enemy down when the drone drops bombs or aims artillery at them.

@alexm566 a cheap American AK will still be better than the Soviet shit made by deported brown children in Siberia before they died from tuberculosis.

@vksasdgaming9472 M16 family is just better in general, it's more reliable, 5.56 is a better cartridge, and it actually hits things. See the video from Honor unit and Wolves in Bakhmut, the guy with M4 gets all frags. AK74 doesn't stand a chance.

@staringgasmask being iconic is not about effectiveness, but about - just that - being an icon, a symbol. AK vs M16 or M4 are THE assault rifles that people imagine when they hear the term.
