Actually, that wasn't even it, losing first Chechen war to a country smaller than moscow and with basically no weapons, was even more disgraceful... And would have been, if not the 2-3 day special operation to take Kyiv that turned into 10-year siege of Mar'inka and Avdiivka.

  2.  @rosesweetcharlotte  One of most popular is "scuttle our entire navy at Sevastopol so enemy won't take them". Nakhimov was praised for that so much a cruise ship was named after it... SS Admiral Nakhimov. Look it up... It never left port. Just drowned, with all the people on it.

It's funny that Nakhimov, famous for drowning entire russian fleet near the shores of Ukraine during Crimean war, is PRAISED instead, ship named after him so at this point in history Admiral Nakhimov is mostly known as the russian Titanic, as it was one of the biggest shipwrecks, again. The history of russians swimming go as well as moskva and their soldiers that wash up on our beaches.

  5.  @BackYardScience2000  I mean, during the russian invasion of Georgia the russians managed to lose half a dozen planes... to friendly fire. And later, when invading Syria, they lost more, to themselves. We even joked that the Ukrainian ship they stole, Kuzya the smokeshow, was a cossack spy taking revenge by knocking their planes into the water.

  7. Their aircraft carrier, which they didn't build but stole from Ukraine, is known for destroying half a dozen planes... all russian planes. The only casualties it delivered were by dropping them left and right, and went up in smoke (literally) on way back from Syria, and burned down a drydock.

  8.  @priestoffern1608  it's actually comedic up close. Hell, after sinking their flagship we sold a lot of mugs and shirts with "russian warship, go fuck yourself" slogan... it doens't even out the losses from tourism in Odesa since russians wash up ashore, but hey, at least it's funny.
