We need conscription at the age of 18 for at least 1 year of service like other countries do.

@jobpls just because you don't see it does not mean its not there. I bet Ukraine thought the same thing. It's always better to be over prepared when it comes to defending one's country and allies than being way under prepared. Also 1 year of service teaches young people disaplint and pride for the country your a part of. Also gives a first view look at the careers Available in the services. Some will continue on after the 1 year others will go back to school and so on.

@javelinblue5414 You are free to disagree however many country's around the world do this practice. Even though they are not at conflict with anyone. It teaches values and also gets people in the best shape of there lives which is a growing concern with obesity on the rise.

@ethimself5064 actually they only have 43million people in Ukraine we have 38.25million in Canada. A difference of 5million people.
