  1. Here in the Netherlands, surviving winter comfortably is mostly just about wearing enough rain gear. But a few weeks ago we actually had some snow, and it actually remained on the ground for more than a few hours, days even! And we even had some mini snowbanks (about 40cm wide) because there was too much snow on the roads to melt with salt! Very exciting. We're not used to much anymore after our cold spell / pre-global-warming boon in the 1980s
