  1. What a lovely trip! I hope you got your food planning dialled in after this because, like Nicole, I think I'd be a lot more relaxed with my blood sugar in place. I also wonder to what extent this type of experience could be replicated in the Netherlands! We used to have a lot of canal boats here too, before the advent of the train, but I've never seen narrow historical boats here in spite of walking on many tow paths. And did you know it wasn't just horses pulling our canal boats, it was also sometimes just people (like the skipper's wife)?
