  1. Wow, so much mayhem on day one! I just finished watching Kara and Nate cycle across the US in 36 days, and while their bike broke down a lot too, their back wheel only stopped spinning on day 30 or so... Either they got really lucky or adding just one more rider really increases the technical risks exponentially! I hope things got better for the race after day one...
