Imagine being in for something stupid or petty and getting put on lockdown because someone in a prison on the other side of the country killed two guys.

Yeah you're right. The state of Michigan tried to put my boyfriend's mom in prison because she worked at a place that the state of Michigan keeps allowing to be a business. But then goes after the employees of saying that they worked for an illegal gambling location. They tried to charge her with dumb things like using a computer to commit a crime which is a felony that carries 20 years. Because she sometimes made the schedules for the other employees. That was literally all they had on her. But she's broke and can't afford a good lawyer and her State appointed one was literally telling her that if they brought it and took it to trial she would lose and get over 20 years in prison!! Unfortunately the states scam to get money out of people worked and she plead guilty to crimes she didn't commit so she could get probation instead of risking prison. And I'd like to remind everyone that the state of Michigan very much allows this business to continue opening locations knowing what they're doing, and knowing that they keep going after all of the small time employees that have no choice in the matter they just get hired, show up, and do their job. The business in question? Arcade games that pay out in gift cards. I know of violent criminals that wander around the state of Michigan free and clear because they wouldn't do anything to keep these people locked up. And yet the state of Michigan is wasting our tax money to go after innocent people for nonviolent "crimes", well they let these violent criminals run free. It's disgusting. The state of Michigan literally lets kids grow up under the care of drug addicted, alcoholic parents. But Lord forbid you show up on time every day to a job you were led to believe was illegally operating business and do the job you're told to do. Do that in the state of Michigan could give you 20 to 60 years behind bars. There are people in Michigan who get in trouble for drinking under the age limit, and crashing into other people entering them, and spend zero years in prison. My mom was permanently messed up by an underage drunk driver. That kids saw zero days behind bars. This country doesn't have a Justice system. It has a system made up of bribery and lies.

@pasofino9583 the government has literally showed up at people's property, surveilled them without their knowledge for months, and then shot them up for no reason. I don't trust that the federal prisons are full of only bad criminals. Especially not after what I saw the state of Michigan government due to my fiance's mom. She worked for an arcade place that paid out in gift cards. Michigan legally allows these places to operate, and then goes after the employees with charges like using a computer to commit a crime, which carries a sentence of 20 years. And you know what for? Making schedules for other employees. Clocking in. Sending emails to the manager about every day operations. You know what was so illegal that they were hunting down all the employees of this business that they were legally allowed to operate in michigan? That sometimes the business would run out of gift cards and would pay out in cash instead. Oh no, you can spend your $10 you won on that arcade game anywhere instead of just at Starbucks. Huge crime. Obviously worth three felony charges. This country does not have a justice system it has an extortion system. So you're not going to get me to sit here and believe that everyone in federal prison belongs there. Sorry but only an idiot thinks that.

@jayp2623 the state of Michigan tried to send my fiance's mom to prison for more than 20 years for doing normal employee things at a business they keep allowing to operate in michigan. Well I shouldn't say they tried to send her to prison for 20 years they threatened her with three felony charges that carried 20-year prison sentences. So that they could get her to plead guilty to things that aren't crimes so they can extort money out of her. And it worked. Her court appointed lawyer convinced her that if they went to court she would be found guilty and charged with felonies that carry over 20 years sentences. You know what evidence they had of these crimes that she supposedly committed? She made schedules for herself and her fellow employees at her place of employment. That again, the state of Michigan keeps allowing to become a business. So that they can then take all the poor employees to court scare them with 20-year sentences and get their court appointed lawyers to bully them and depleting guilty and paying a bunch of money to the state for no reason. If you think the federal government doesn't pull the same s*** you're dumb.

@BWowed I might believe that, if I hadn't watched the state of Michigan successfully extort my fiance's mom into paying them money. What they do is they keep allowing a certain type of business to operate in michigan, and then they go after all of the poor regular employees who don't have money for a lawyer, instead of going after the owners who live out of state. So they keep allowing the same owners to open more and more businesses in Michigan they let it operate for a while and then they bring up charges on all the employees. Charges like using a computer to commit a crime. Which is completely open and can be used against you for literally anything. My fiance's mom made the schedules for herself and her fellow employees, this is apparently worth multiple 20-year felonies. And her court appointed lawyer helped bully her into pleading guilty. You can't even call them a court appointed lawyer when all they're really doing is helping the state extort money out of innocent people. And do you know what major crime this business was committing that was so serious that Michigan just has to keep letting them open new businesses commit this crime and then go after the employees? Paying out cash instead of gift cards to people who won arcade games. Sometimes the locations would run out of gift cards and would start paying out to winners and cash. The employees were instructed to do this by their managers and bosses and were not aware it was illegal. Nor does it even matter honestly, there are so many other things that are justice system needs to be concerning itself with like rapists and murderers. Our justice system never needs to spend time on something as trivial as an arcade game place giving out cash instead of gift cards. Oh no they can spend their prize money at any place in America instead of it just whatever place is on the gift card. Seriously what's so criminal about that? Nothing. Our state governments and our federal government is one big extortion ring. Everybody in prison doesn't belong in there. Some of those people just refused to be extorted. My fiance's mom might very well be in prison today if she had had a backbone and refused to be extorted. But she is meek and she did not fight. The state is lucky that they often go after people like her and not me. Not only would I have going to trial and one, I would have then taken every single person responsible for the filing of those charges two quarts for personal damages. Then I would have taken the state of Michigan to court for being criminals themselves and extorting money out of people. If they had tried to pull that s*** with me I would have never let the state of Michigan live it down. But most people aren't me and that's why they get away with it.
