Universal healthcare is based upon taking care of people's health the right way the whole time they're alive so they never have to have a bunch of expensive medical issues taken care of, where is insurance-based healthcare there's no incentive to treat people when it's something minor and unconsciously, so they wait until it becomes something major and very costly and then they charge you an arm and a leg. Then that's not even close to the only reason why universal healthcare is cheaper than insurance based healthcare. We all pay more for insurance-based healthcare whether you live a healthy lifestyle or not.

  17. My mom just got a house by paying the back taxes on it. It's obviously more complicated than that, she had to hire an attorney to make sure that the family members didn't want the house. But it had sat for 2 years and they were letting it go to waste. She has been living in the house over a year now fixing it up, making the yard beautiful again, making it a home.

Occasionally one machine would run out of gift cards and instead of being allowed to shut it down they were forced by their bosses to keep it running and pay the winners out in cash. This is illegal according to Michigan State law. Michigan continuously goes after the employees of this business meanwhile allowing the owner to open and operate more locations throughout michigan. They scared her with several fake charges. Some as BS as "committing a crime with a computer" because she made the employee schedules. Committing a crime with a computer is a felony charge that carries a 20-year sentence. She can't afford a lawyer and her public defender told her that if they went to court she would be found guilty and spend over 20 years in prison. She's very kind but not the brightest, she believed her public defender and she didn't fight it because she didn't want to spend the rest of her pleasant adult years in prison. She's 50 years old and disabled she can't go to prison. She would give you her last dime if you needed it, is the hardest working woman I know. Worked until her her doctor and husband practically forced her to stop for her leg's sake. You clearly know nothing of the supposed justice system in this country. We don't have one we have one big extortion ring.

A few years back I met a man while waiting at the bus stop to go to work, he was homeless from a divorce trying to make it down to his kids in florida. They were also pretty poor so they couldn't help him financially. One day while we were sitting chatting while I waited for the bus someone stopped in their car and gave him a bunch of coupons for free meals at a local fast food joint. This man tried to hand me half of them while I had a home and food on my shelves. Of course I refused. But you really don't know why someone is homeless until you talk to them. In my hometown of lake Orion there is a homeless War veteran. Been that way for many many years. He goes somewhere in the winter, chooses to be homeless because of mental health issues that are going untreated. There are people who are homeless because of bad family situations. People who are homeless because they trusted the wrong people to rent from. Had me and another girl who rented a room from her, fired and then at 11:00 p.m. that night told us we needed to be out by the weekend. Which isn't even legal but we weren't going to stick around and put up with her and her alcohol addicted baby daddy. I paid for a campsite for 2 weeks and lived in a tent. Then I lived in my mom's camper in her backyard for 2 months before getting the apartment I've now lived in for 3 years. Homelessness can happen to anyone at any time. You need to remember that you are far closer to being homeless than you will ever be to being rich like the people who add nothing to society, and only profit off your hard work.

There is no thoughts or feelings going on. Incidentally it already has all the same rights as any other living person. No living person can take anything from someone else no matter how badly they need it to survive, no matter if that person they're taking it from is the reason they need that thing to survive. Let's say someone gets drunk and crashes into you with their car and you need a lot of blood to survive. Even if they were a perfect match and they were the reason you need it, they're not obligated to give you blood. No one can make them. Equally no one can make a pregnant woman carry a pregnancy she doesn't want to, it's just as immoral is forcing blood donations or organ donations. Even more compelling to my argument is that you're not allowed to take organs from a corpse no matter how many lives it would save, unless that person gave permission when they were alive. If you can't even take organs from a dead person's body without their permission in life to save countless people, then what right does a fetus have to take from a woman? How do you not see that saying a woman can't have an abortion if she doesn't want to be pregnant, is saying that she has less rights to her body than a corpse has and a fetus has more rights to her body than any born person does? To recap; a fetus cannot use a woman's body without her permission just like any other born person can't. And a woman should have more rights to her body than a corpse does.

  67. Well mental health is a far bigger factor than access to guns anyways. We have to accept that many of the mass shooters in schools had no previous criminal records or anything else that would have stopped them legally from buying a gun. Yes some of them wouldn't have legally been able to get their hands on a gun if we had stricter gun laws but too many of them still would have been able to acquire the gun they used to shoot the people they shot. Mental health is the biggest contributor to the violence we see in our country. And until we address it nothing will change.

If you're going about your life and no one hurts you it's just a freak accident, then yes no one is at fault for your injury. But if someone does something that is clearly dangerous (like drunk driving) and has clear possible outcomes (a crash) and they crash into you, hurting you, they are just as responsible for your injuries and now your life as two people who had sex and are now with child. It is literally the same. Someone made a decision that affected someone else. That someone else is now dependent on the person who made the decision. Now as a society humans have already decided that in the car crash scenario, even though there is a clear perpetrator, that perpetrator is not responsible for saving the other person's life. If life is so precious that we are going to force women to be pregnant when they don't want to be, how can we argue that people aren't obligated to fix what they broke? If you caused someone kidney failure, following the logic of "pro-lifers" you should be forced to give them a kidney. If you cause someone to lose a lot of blood, by the logic of pro-lifers, you should be forced to be the one to replace it. By their logic the person who creates the need must fulfill it. They have zero interest in actually saving human lives, because if they did they would have put their money where their mouth was a long time ago and created artificial wombs. If they had this discussion wouldn't even need to exist because people who didn't want to be pregnant wouldn't have to be pregnant and everybody who wants a newborn baby and can't have one can get what they want. But now let's all sit here and argue over it instead and never accomplish anything.

They teach people that birth control solves everything and if you just take it at the same time every day you can have sex whenever you want and nothing bad will ever happen. Most people I know with kids were on birth control when they got pregnant and were taking it properly. But it's only so effective so if you're having sex when you're ovulating and allowing the man to finish inside you there's a chance you could get pregnant. They don't teach people that. They don't teach people how to keep track of their fertility so they know when they're ovulating. They don't even teach them that there are apps to use for that.

It took so long to find an engagement ring that I liked that would actually come in a size that I could get it sized down to my size in. Because you can only size a ring down two sizes before it ruins the integrity of the band. And the average size of an American woman's wedding ring finger? A 7. My wedding ring finger size? A 4. Americans need to stop getting bigger. It was definitely easier to find clothes a decade ago.

Meaning that more newborn babies and mothers die during childbirth here than any other developed country in the world. We don't lead the world in anything that would put us in first place.
