  2. Which itself is "stolen" from OS/2 and heavily revamped with VMS-like (via Dave Cutler, iirc) efforts. In the day, OS/2 made NT look like tonka toys.

  3.  @CatFace8885  Which is the same correction path NT went. They found micro kernels have a variety of issues, with performance being one of them. The only way to get past the performance issues is a monolithic or hybrid approach.

  5. MINIX is the basis of the remote support interfaces (Intel) built into rack systems these days. MINIX lives on, but in the hidden embedded space.
