@dontatmebro- Stick drift basically came from the fact that the sticks are buttons. Repeated uses will simply start to make issues regarding the use of the sticks as they get pushed very slightly out of place over time to where there is shift in 0.

@Logan S This is the argument for state control of the economy. Yeah no it's wrong. Working together is great in many respects, but working against each other provides the competition necessary for ideas to flourish as they become requirements to do better than someone else.

This really isn't one of them honestly. For the sake of a rather weak argument regarding competition and environmental regulation (it's really not that hard to carry another cable) they've completely destroyed any future competition. Different devices have different needs and the different cables largely reflect that. It also means that someone in future cannot create a better cable later on. I think it's one that sounds great and will be mostly harmless in the short term, but in the long term be more detrimental for very small gain in the short term anyway.

@Logan S As far as I'm aware it's whatever is USB standard as they simply went and delegated it to that group. Which, useful for developing the USB lines of A, B, and C, isn't necessarily responsible for all cables. So I'd imagine it's just whatever the USB commission likes.
