  2. Sounds like Europe has already fallen and America is just the last holdout with a strong revolt against the decadence. And the middle east and China are basically trying to find their footing to become players on the world stage again in barbarism.

  3. So the key thing here seems to be to have enough people invested in the civilization that it survives despite hardship. However if people have no investment the civilization will collapse since realistically no-one wants it.
