@tianwong152 China sank a Vietnamese ship around an oil platform in the South China sea. The US has said nothing to the South Koreans or the Japanese about arming again. The Japanese have kept a self-defense force largely and would have no reason to start a blue water navy were it not for a threat beyond its immediate shoreline. Which would mean China or Russia because the US is realistically too far away and those two are the two biggest powers in the region. Saying Japan is under US occupation is ridiculous honestly considering the JSDF is more than capable of dealing with any force the US would realistically send and Japan is incredibly popular in the US and the US incredibly popular in Japan. This can be seen in the two's shared cultural media. It's also worth mentioning that the Japanese are ramping up joint military drills with the US. By the way, if America was weakened by a stronger China (which isn't how that works by the way) and can't deal with Korea in a way it wants to then wouldn't the South Koreans be more open about disliking the Americans? But instead the South Koreans are ramping up joint military exercises with the Americans as well. That does not indicate an unfriendliness or poor relation with the Americans. As much as you have this idea that China is the protector of Asia, are you really so certain that the other Asian powers see China in kind?

@tianwong152 If you can't earn the loyalty of your military through means beyond money you have many other issues on your table.

@stormystudios9804 Then for your sake I hope China will soon decide to change to an interior focus much like the US has decided to do more recently. If it does then you're safe. Otherwise you're going to need allies as China attempts to grab ahold of the region. Honestly I've a decent feeling that being on the periphery Vietnam will be dragged into the conflict that comes. Indo-Chinese relations are getting worse as China is currently damming the Indian water supply and India does not seem to be ready for a real war with China as it's in transition and also integrating its transition poorly. While the US is also in transition but has a much clearer road and is ready to take another decade wide leap ahead of China. Those will be the three biggest players in a possible war. There will definitely be huge repercussions if India becomes a Chinese puppet state since that would effectively mean that China has half of the world as its real population and drag it to a point where not even a coalition could realistically touch it for a very long time. Definitely would turn all of Asia into China's realm and Vietnam would very much be dragged into that.

@stormystudios9804 Once again, not sure you'll be able to. Much of the reason Switzerland was able to avoid it was that it is entirely mountainous and largely surrounded by them even on the German side making an invasion pretty pointless and costly with many other larger targets for its ideological concerns (mainly "living space" which entailed eastern expansion and wanting to get payback on the French). The Chinese ideological goal in comparison is control over Asia and while Vietnam is very mountainous in the west, it is much less so in the East and North which means no mountain fighting and it's already gotten friendly/puppet governments in the rest of southeast Asia (Myanmar military coup comes to mind) which means that Vietnam is the last holdout in the region. I can see it being perceived as friendly however as long as they make no moves against China and maybe make a few gestures against the US.

@tianwong152 The majority of the world stands with China? India hates China, southeast Asia largely doesn't like China, Central Asia doesn't like China, Russia doesn't like China but hates the Americans too, Europe is neutral at best about China but still doesn't like the human rights abuses or the unfair deals, and Sub-Saharan Africa doesn't like China because they're becoming the dominant economic force in the continent. Then South America is too irrelevant to have much of a real stance, most of the North Africa and western Asia really are too focused on their local regions to care about China beyond maybe some economic utility. In terms of "Standing with China" no countries really apply in a way similar to how countries stand with the US. China stands almost completely alone with any "allies" honestly ready to turn on it once they can find a better deal or break free.

@tianwong152 Do you know that the American Asian population is statistically the wealthiest in the US and on top of that consistently doing better than other groups in almost every metric? While this is not equal among Asian groups as Asians encompass everything from Chinese to Filipinos, they have a high status in American society and are doing better than the white population contributing very highly to much of the continued American development. If you believe they are actually being ethnically cleansed while they are increasing as a percentage of the population you are simply in a parallel world where the only thing you can do is accuse others of doing what your country is doing because China can't do anything wrong. The fact that you attempt to say that China does nothing wrong no matter what is a degree of dishonesty and delusion that is far too gone. Perhaps you are trying to save face on the part of China, however such a concept largely does not exist in the west. The idea that the US is somehow the embodiment of Nazi Germany when it openly condemns discrimination and the fact that the US does not actually have a coherent real majority ethic group who's definition continually expands across the decades and currently considers Arabs whites for legal purposes means that in terms of any sort of ethnic cleansing or slavery is so incredibly unlikely and is simply a situation which is so difficult to exist it is LAUGHABLE that you lable this accusation toward the US. Btw, I'm not American, I'm Puerto Rican and Cuban. Inglés es me lengua segundo. You have very good English for a Chinese seemingly living in China. However, please do not delude yourself into thinking only one source of information is correct and everyone else wrong. That is almost always not the case.

Something similar is happening in the US for similar reasons as due to a video calling platform called "Zoom" that was mass adopted and the growth of computer-centered labor, many people don't need to live in cities anymore and so are moving to the countryside since all they really need is a computer and an internet connection.
1
@stormystudios9804 Interesting. In comparison the US has never had issues with that corruption and have an entire private industry centered around the military. However US corruption tends to be low compared to many other countries except maybe western Europe. Also a lot harder to try to do something like have military interference in the government when the government is often being watched and the country has a fairly unbroken history of civilian control of affairs. And don't even think of a military coup. The military is largely loyal to the civilian government and the populace is actually armed enough in all but heavy equipment to actually start an armed rebellion against any such activity.
1
@tianwong152 You have a bit too much fear of the CIA. Very incompetent in comparison.
1
@tianwong152 I'm not sure they'll be able to avoid it. The rumblings and mobilization of China is a conflict engulfing ALL of Asia. All parties with influence or presence on the continent will be dragged along likely as far away as Indonesia and for all powers it's basically going to be a question of "Who do you hate more?" for who to side with. In terms of overbearing forces however the Americans tend to become somewhat benevolent patriarchs as they're too far away and inward focused to try to crush anyone who isn't in their own backyard with very soft influence and won't try to simply overtake your culture. The US is first and foremost an economic empire. They like to trade with any friendly governments but also hate oppressive regimes which is why the South Koreans and Japanese have become very wealthy in comparison to many neighbors. This is compared to the literal oppressive regime that is currently China and why its relationship with the US has soured as they were happy to trade with a country that seemed to be on the road to freedom and let them make cheaper stuff until the more aggressive military actions, started to simply take stuff in the form of intellectual property theft, and start to go down a more oppressive path seemingly to go ahead and wrest control of Asia for themselves... or more accurately: the Chinese Communist Party authority. And considering the Chinese attitude of attempting to annex both Korea and Vietnam multiple times across its history, there's a decent chance of attempting to do so again. While I'm unsure of the Chinese attempting to invade Korea and annex it since they seem to be mostly fine using North Korea as a buffer state, the Vietnamese are definitely next within the crosshairs.
1
@tianwong152 That "Made in China 2025" plan has largely fallen apart as those countries have cut down on the Chinese intellectual property theft.
1
@stormystudios9804 @Stormy Studios And such realities are why I said it has comparatitively low corruption overall at least compared to other countries that aren't western and Northern Europe. Also while the normal wing of the Republican party is fine with it, the populist and libertarian wing of the party (which is in a current takeover ousting the main party) is not and is actively pushing for reindustrialization. Also despite the exodus of manufacturing the US is still only 10% reliant on foreign trade which is incredibly low and very good for self-sufficiency. Also surprised you're so well-versed in American affairs currently as it seems you know a lot about China and Vietnam as well.
1
@stormystudios9804 Which country is that may I ask? I would guess Vietnam but never want to assume.
1
@tianwong152 And that is how China has pissed off the majority of the world.

@tianwong152 Social credit system.

@tianwong152 There is no question? That makes little sense given the current situation as any coalition would be able to kick out the Americans from the pacific. It's a very stupid idea to think that the reason the Asian countries side with America is because China simply isn't strong enough. In fact in many case the Americans are seen as protection FROM China. I'm also not saying the US is benevolent, however from the current oppression of the Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang to the increasingly bellicose actions of the government in trying to take more territory in the South China sea and poor deals in places like Sri Lanka if I'm remembering correctly has soured many to the current Chinese government and in comparison the US is MORE benevolent. It's also worthwhile to say that "not letting the US colonize us" is incredibly dishonest and factually inaccurate as the US was happy to trade for decades as China industrialized and came into its own and had no ideas of "colonization". It's only been as China has started making deals that are seen unfair and losing to the rest of the world that they have soured relations such as engaging in intellectual property theft and making it so foreign businesses simply lose in China. The US currently dislikes China as to the US population they feel that China has taken away their work (despite that largely being self-inflicted and thus stupid) and seen the human rights abuses with groups such as the Uighurs and the birth of the social credit system. If you can't accept such a reality you're honestly about as far gone as thinking the coronavirus came from the USA despite the fact of you having global internet access. Edit: The Japanese, South Koreans, and Indians would not be expanding their military if they liked the Chinese. If they wanted to kick out the Americans they would not have waited until now to do so and have made plans long ago and not in this era of new aggression from the Chinese government. In fact the South Korean and Japanese states as they exist today are only because of American creations in certain periods of history with US-Japanese relations at an all time high and South Korean relations with the US have not taken a downturn in any recent time so the worst any of these countries are considering the US is that of a useful ally. Even Vietnam has a favorable opinion of the US at least from the populace but the same cannot be said for its view on China which has invaded it many more times than the USA and in a time-scale longer than the USA has even existed. While the China is definitely powerful and influential in the region, the US benefits from simply not being there and avoids potential dislike from actions such as the Chinese expansions into the South China Sea.

@tianwong152 The social credit system has been recorded and reported on. Whinny the pooh loves his surveillance.

@tianwong152 The Uighurs are getting their organs harvested in Xinjiang. Chinese government told Sri Lanka it would build a port for them, and gave them a loan, and then once it was built went ahead and claimed it as their own. And if China is the protector of Asia then why is it militarizing the South China Sea when the countries who need it most can't compete? The US is not pretending the South China sea is not the possession of China. It simply does not belong to them and acting like it is the sole claim of China based on a name is about as ridiculous as saying India has a claim on the entire Indian Ocean because it's called the INDIAN Ocean. However by international treaty countries have an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) which is 200 miles out from their shores until it bumps up against another EEZ in which it is split down the middle. China claims the whole thing as its EEZ and that is in no way fair to the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, or anyone else in the region. Currently the Uighur Muslims are having their organs harvested and forced to work in camps without pay with many records of this in sources across the globe. You have access to the Broader internet you should be able to find this yourself.
1
@tianwong152 I never said you said the virus came from the US. I said if you did you would be a lost cause as it's a popular theory I've heard among the Chinese and Chinese sources are attempting to peddle this theory that the Covid-19 pandemic started in the US and not China.
1
@tianwong152 Why would Americans want to do that to the Uighurs? Especially since the US is one of the biggest criticizers of the whole program. The US doesn't even have Uughurs. And if the US was actually doing such actions they would not be able to cover it up and would immediately be in compliance with an idea that it fought a war with itself to end. The port in Sri Lanka was created for Sri Lanka or at least that was the agreement however it was taken after. And uh... what? Are you serious? I'm especially curious about how Australia somehow fits into the South China Sea equation since they're incredibly reliant on China and have good relations with all of the countries in the area (at least to my knowledge) since they just keep to themselves largely. Also the countries around the South China sea have explicitly said they are not okay with China taking these actions and thus China is not protecting them.
1
@tianwong152 Ships float. They do not sink, unless they are damaged. And China made a Vietnamese vessel sink with a warship and thus were the cause of the sinking. Wait how would Japan kill the US if they left? Genuine question. I have no idea how you think that could or would be done. Also uh... I'm not sure you understand how countries under occupation operate. An occupier does not teach a country how to fight if it wants to control it. It disarms its military and fights on its behalf while maintaining military control over the police force. How would Americans be slave owners or occupiers? That requires them to actually be occupying any territory. Honestly if you "know" the Asian countries see you as protectors then you are incredibly deluded to a degree that I cannot fathom given the fact that you have access to the outside world and all of the information which comes with it yet still choose to believe China is the benevolent force defending Asia when Multiple countries are gearing up for war with it and this information is easily accessible to you by a quick search. In contrast, I do not think the US is a benevolent force but definitely has stopped many of the worse actions and routinely angers its population when it finds out what things it has been hiding. You should really learn from the guy named Storm. Much better grasp of the situation than yourself. Final note: if China was a true protector and with how close Vietnam really is and the limits of US power projection, would it really need to play an act of neutrality when it can easily just side with China if it really wants protection from the Americans?
1
@tianwong152 The ASEAN countries also do not care about the deal beyond the fact that it is an escalation within the region and don't want to be caught up in any fighting as they will be caught in the crossfire. The perspectives differ overall with the Phillipines and Vietnam saying that they welcome a better balance in the local strategic competition. Also wow you must be deluded if you think the US wants to do that to the Uighurs considering it has absolutely no business of that type and I explained exactly why it would not do that. The issue is that it is not a lie about Chinese treatment of the Uyghurs. This information is publicly available.
1
@tianwong152 Can you back up the "ethnic cleansing" of Asians in the US in any capacity? Or are you unaware of the major position Asians occupy in American society?
1
@tianwong152 If everything China says is true and everything else is a lie you're far gone and not worth discussing with. Have a very nice life.
1
@tianwong152 India doesn't have a choice? So does anyone have a choice? Also what does central Asia want? Curious. Since when is Europe the enemy of the US lmao? What are you actually talking about? Becoming the dominant force doesn't mean someone likes you it means you have power there not that anyone likes you. Also only Australia? Then why is the quad alliance even existing? They can't play nice with anyone who isn't white? The Indians, Japanese, Filipinos, Malaysians, and Vietnamese would take issue with that as the latter 3 have all had positive opinions on AUKUS and the former 2 are part of the quad defense pact.
1
@tianwong152 I did tell you how I was not American, but anyway honestly no Russia is probably likely to make a deal with the Americans and then just go ahead and hit China too or at least stay out of it. Go ahead and believe China has allies, but you'll see that when the time comes, it will have none.
1
@tianwong8514 What is the Chinese dream? Also the number is 16 million not to protect their western borders but to protect from extermination. I'm aware of the Russian desire for the Baltic, Belarus, Ukraine, The Caucasus, and Central Asia.
1
@tianwong152 Alright I said I'm done but I really am now. Two days of wasted time. Goodbye and continue to be delusional. Few things however: No-one forces those countries to play nice and easily could openly side with China if they really hated it, The US is what really pressured the British to pull out of India, seeing people as less than human is so wrong it has to be a projection as Americans see the world as wannabe Americans but the Chinese as Barbarians. And getting independence so they're not tied to America is nowhere near the same as being an enemy. Also the Africans know better than to trust the Chinese after they see how much wealth is going to China and not going back into their own countries. Please actually speak with people from those countries before you say anything else so stupid.
