To be fair... how did she get in charge in the first place and how did she get there? She's the only Valkyrie left. Everyone else is dead. Also she was only in charge because whiny fat Thor had given up and became a hermit so she was already leading. She was de facto leader already and then he gave her de jure. Also It was supposed to be temporary. Though.... we know it isn't.
