  1. The reasons really boil down to two: the society and institutions are unable to inspire really anything positive in the youth, and even of those that can apply are too unhealthy to even join. And frankly I agree with the diagnosis that it's a canary in the coal mine. The society is not exactly in a healthy state. And in the mean time we'll see real physical damage until it can be righted.
