  1. Yeah the thing with the Mosin is that it's from 1891 lol. Military doctrine at the time was fighting in tight formations (tbh they were getting away from that and spreading out at the time) and they just kind of didn't change the design. So that 2km sight is for area fire basically. Also I'd like you to know that when used in that capacity, yes, that rifle would've been able to actually engage a target at 2km out. British did it with similar style rifles around the time the Mosin was adopted.

  12. I think 5.45 is the current best cartridge for taking down unarmored human targets. I think the ballistics, and more importantly TERMINAL ballistics, favor this more Than any other caliber. However... if my target has hard body armor, my goal is to dump enough energy into it to deform it or just knock out the guy behind it with the force of the shot. Bud since armor is frequently rated for it just dump about like 5 of them into the target instead of the usual 1.
