Well to be fair, a decent bit of fights take place like this and neither side here likely has solid artillery and definitely no air forces meaning that there will be no support but you still have to take the ground anyway. Fights over open fields in armored vehicles are almost the norm in many areas because the fields are open and you HAVE to take ground. So... you grab an armored vehicle and go. Try not to die.

@ledocteur7 Worth noting that as an extra bit of info: in the USA, it has ALWAYS been legal to make your own firearms at home even if not legal to actually sell them. So in real terms "ghost guns" are just trying to make it scary by association with the word ghost. Btw if you're European... check out the Czechs.

Yeah not yet. Unfortunately, what polymers work poorly with are high levels of heat Thus making them poor for dealing with repeated heat in many areas. Also, for rifling to work properly, it cuts into the round. Thus, it requires something that can withstand that force AND heat from the now required friction. Though it would certainly be interesting to test how bullets would work on a less frictional surface with rifling

Well it's just a significantly lower barrier to entry tbh. Not everyone can really have the space or spend the money to get a vertical mill or lathe, but 3D printers go for like $300. Most people can afford that. Also most are small enough to fit on a desk. Most people have space for that.

@PPPA1 Still mortars and wouldn't be enough to soften the position probably. Also seemingly against other armored vehicles.
