One of the things that made the death of the tank quite silly in hindsight was that cavalry didn't die until the late 1930s with the rise of the tank in maneuver warfare and mass motorization of armies as a result of more developed industries and the spread of assembly line production of vehicles. Tanks and trucks did the job of cavalry better. Why do I bring this up? Because it's an example of a wrong lesson learned from just seeing that a certain platform was vulnerable. People need to see the underlying issues of a certain phenomenon before they try to learn a lesson.
