@gunzablazin01 Nah. The most important thing to understanding the NFA is understanding which weapons the prohibition era gangs were using at the time. One of them was automatic weapons and others were things like the Thompson. Basically they were trying to criminalize anything that would be commonly held by those such as Capone to combat gang violence. Only issue? Prohibition ended around the same time making the law completely pointless while also no-one ever taking the time to repeal it

Issue number two: the thing which it was created to stop (namely the prohibition gangs of the time who were using these things) were for all intents and purposes dissolved after prohibition ended making the entire law completely pointless anyway.

@saltwater8915 Even funnier is that the anti-gun side takes the exact same position on their opponents saying they're the ones with logic and reason while pro-gun are fear and emotion thus making the entire affair an exercise in contempt of the other and refusing to comply.
