@joesheridan9451 Thanks for this Joe, appreciate it man. The purpose is to get the territorial tax benefits and I realize that the accommodation has particularly shot up in price, but wages are still relatively very low and cost of living (if you would agree) is reasonable. Although yes the currency is stronger, same with the Dram as well. Good in some respects, bad in others. I have a feeling what you're saying about the "nothing to do" aspect after a month based on the sceneries. Although I could use some quiet time hahah I will say that you're the first saying that people aren't friendly, I had a call with a fella and he was pretty to the point and smiling was not a thing so I understand that part too. Just a different breed. Basically the goal is for tax purposes, safety, experience, need a residence, proximity to other markets to scout out, and not in EU, NATO and from the Russian's perspective they've already secured that border with the two republics there (non-threat). They seem pretty Anti-PC and pro family too which is nice. I understand about the great bargains though, although Batumi looks fairly interesting. Interested in Turkey, Armenia, Montenegro, Andorra and Madeira (Portugal) as well but figured Georgia offers the most holistic benefits. Thoughts?

@kathrinaclark They, Colombia, have fucked themselves. They've completed sold out the population to the Big Tech and Big Pharma. Expecting poverty to explode. Nicaragua may be a dangerous/safe, ugly/artistic, natural/dirty, authoritarian/free, cheap/tiresome place to be. The elections are coming up soon though so... something like 9/13 of Ortega's opponents are in jail.
The spark plug may be to find somewhere 'nobody' is talking about. Armenia, Tanzania, Namibia, (Turkey I guess), Montenegro, Macedonia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Rwanda, Paraguay, Uruguay, Nicaragua, Albania, Azerbaijan, some place that like it's uncommon to go to.
Armenian soldiers asked my buddy who inquired about the jab if he was drunk LOL (cause you'd have to be to want it). Look if people are willing to take a luxury cut by heading to LATAM, why not take one in an area with zero violence, prob just as many speak English in Baku than rural Costa Rica

@Unknowngfyjoh I'm glad to hear you had no problems. But it's completely inundated with gangs in their culture, statistics will go up and down, but I would be wholeheartedly shocked if it became the safest in LATAM or one of.
They simply don't have the same culture, stability, laws, ability to enforce them as the anglo countries or rather ones stemmed from the British Empire. In Mexico now w/ partner (native here). The land of the frito bandito as Doug Casey puts it.
Its probably (mexico) most similar to the Wild Wild West days or the hippie days of California in 60s. Now Mexico is unique, but it's still in the region, & what made Dubai and Singapore financial power homes seem to be rule of law. I'm extremely skeptical that given its history, financial vulnerability, culture and current economic situation reliant on massive gangs that it (El Salvador) will attract that reputation. They 'just' made their bond payments.
Cracking down on gangs is surface level stuff, which is fine if you have small exposure or do little trips. But setting up shop, big investments, big properties, land, starting a family, 'very safe' is relative surely. If you go again I'd be interested to hear from more locals from the guy who you were paying in a car. Consider the fact too that you're a money man in their eyes, its not feasible or attractive to fuck with you, but its fair game for locals. Having said that, just like in LATAM, there 'are' very safe areas of El Salvador but everything I just said refers to the entire nation & think over a period of time, things revert to the mean.

@drs519 Thanks for your reply. Same thing here in Mexico with the face underwear, but nobody bothers you for breathing fresh air. Colombia are going ahead with the clot shot pass. Panama has obvious benefits from it's history, no civil war, canal, international, finance hub, bridging North w/ South, confidence. but the downsides I see/hear are 1) Hardcore lockdowns (happen again?) 2) Garbage 3) Major wealth inequality 4) Cost of living in the business districts (restaurants, groceries) 5) On flip side, lots of poverty in certain areas 6) Crime increases (Generally Safe(r), but don't go to areas A,B,C,D,E...) 7) Spanish is a near-must 8) Corruption in all levels of government 9) Where Spanish is not a must, they're small, isolated expat communes (could be your thing). 10) Ending Friendly Nations Visa benefits (maybe people were exploiting it? or maybe a sign they're closing up shop). 11) Guerilla's in Colombia in the East are barking 12) Mass migration, Panama is a yard for it now.
Accurate or way off?

@DanTheQueasy-Fisherman You 150% need to come here and speak with people. Both professionally, unprofessionally. You'll learn more talking to a local than any website who are just interested in getting their 10-30% cut. As for Colombia, Doofus Duque is a sell out, promoting the experimental shot for kids and now restriction all public access on it. His likely replacement is a resentful, half-witted guerrilla-fighting communist. A lot of people like Colombia and say it stands out but I see them making all the wrong decisions. Gotta give it up to them for radically reducing violent crime, but assuming you're a westerner it's still incredibly high. I've been told by 2 folks (economist & surgeon in Colombia and Ecuador, respectively) that both great to see, tour, hang out but to conduct business (and live for Ecuador) its not that good. Ecuador the pacific coast seems best, away from it all. More on Colombia, if Gustavo is elected he's going to amp up the guerrilla fighters probably...

@thebradmanofmuskoka I don't know man, I see these numbers about privacy and yea it's good to diversify there and even if we assume they never took CovAIDS seriously (which they did, they're entering another lockdown). It's just too wild to live there IMO. It's just another failed state, with Low IQ city-dwellers fighting over streets.
I only like Monero with cryptocurrency and other things ehhh there may be more that meets the eye going on there but El Salvador are actually making some moves trying to flip the ship around. Lots are moving to Nicaragua (but not because of changes). A lot of these places are backwards, dirty, loud, impoverished...
Basically what I'm saying is if you don't feel free to go for a midnight jog.. you're not in a free country. Maybe some people are like who wants to run at midnight anyway? Yea fair enough. But for me at least they lurks in the back of mind that "who can I trust, is someone looking at me, where shouldn't I go and when". The scamdemic just showed how horny the politicians were for power or at least how much CIA influence they were subjected to, but yea I guess your original question by saying "word on the street" matters.
I've spoken to 4 people who went to Panama numerous times and basically said unless you speak Spanish, are okay with shitty service, or are rich (or all 3), than find somewhere else. My personal experience with Panama is 'slooowww' service, but its good. There's a distinct rich and poor there. It's not like the postcard photos.
