  74.  @lordofthemound3890  gcc and clang are custom implementations that emulate POSIX cc, but the fact arch hasn't it makes it not compliant. FreeBSD, most linux distributions and macos have cc. On bsd & macos it coresponds to clang, on linux either clang or gcc. Why it's needed? Well if you write a script with cc it makes it fairly crossplatform, while writing gcc and clang instead would render it only usable on system with one or another.
