So labour plan to let mps carry on getting money through speeches and media work, that doesn't sound like a ban, and labour would take every speech on a case by case basis, it all sounds very woolly and not thought out properly, all second jobs and speeches should be banned, the only jobs mps should be allowed to carry on with is public service role's, eg teaching or doctors, public service related jobs.( and consultancy roles certainly need banning )

  3. I don't even think we are good at hiding it,, it's blatantly rubbed in the publics face because they know they can get away with it without consequences on them. Like someone else said what other jobs could you hold another job and just wander in and out and attend when it suits you or take paid role's to bump up your earnings through second jobs, consultancy work or through speeches?. Not many jobs I know allow that.

  4. I think tim what the government needs is another layer above them to over see them,, because obviously nothing will change unless that happens, mps will probably never change much rules that directly impact on them because its cutting off their own revenue streams.

  5. It's extremely galling and ridiculous you hold that misguided view yes. Extremely worrying you hold veiws like that when people are choosing between heating and eating and you seriously are saying you think mps deserve more,, I would argue they deserve less, since they have been robbing the country blind for decades now and actually get a pay rise most years so it's extremely worrying you holding a view you actually think they deserve more!.🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  7. @kimblecheat  right you're half way there, if you seriously think the mps are poor and just scraping by then it's you that needs to think,, but obviously I agree on the rest and by all means cut what needs to be cut, they can do perfectly well on there salary don't kid yourself into thinking they will do any more work on a higher wage, because that's not happening, they get a pay rise most years and most years they still fleece the public. Think about it 🤔.
